From Agrinio to the shores of Lake Trichonida and then towards Arachova, the second stage of the ΔΕΗ Tour of Hellas 2025 promises to thrill cycling fans

The 2025 ΔΕΗ Tour of Hellas continues today (Thursday, April 3) with the second stage. The pre-start begins at noon at Democracy Square in Agrinio.

The clock will start running in the village of Kainourgio, which is built east of the Ermitsa River and west of Mount Panetolikos.

The second stage is the Tour’s second longest in distance (177.50 km) and the second in elevation gain, with the total altitude exceeding 3000 m.

The riders will pass through villages that are within a short distance of Lake Trichonida, such as Paravola, Platanias, Pantanassa and the settlement of Agia Sofia. Then they will head towards the town of Thermos, where the first KoM sprint awaits them. As they continue alongside Lake Trichonida, in Pamfio, a village in the historical region of Apokorou, the first intermediate sprint will take place.

 Next, riders will ascend to Dounaiika and ride to the famous Banias bridge, towards the Mt. Trikorfos Kalavrouza peak, for the 2nd KoM sprint in the village of Pitsineika (121.7 km).

 Heading towards Nafpaktos from the Peripheral Road and along the coastline of the Gulf of Corinth, they will reach the beautiful town of Itea, for the second intermediate sprint of the day. From there, riders will ascend and pass through Delphi, ending Stage 2 in front of the Cultural Centre in the famous mountainous town of Arachova.

Agrinio to Arachova

Distance: 177.50 km

Elevation gain: 3,063 m

 Pre-start in Agrinio at Dimokratias Square and start in the village of Kainourgio.

Route: Agrinio – Kainourgio – Paravola – Platanias – Pantanassa – Myrtia – Agia Sofia – Thermo (1st ΚοΜ 351 m sprint) – Sitaralona – Pamfio (the 1st intermediate sprint at the outskirts) – Marathias – Kato Makrinou – climb towards Douneika and the famous Bania bridge (Evinos River) and to the mountain peak (2nd KoM 359 m sprint) – direction towards Nafpaktos from the Peripheral Highway and the coastline of the Gulf of Corinth – Monastiraki – Agios Spyridonas – Agios Nikolaos – Agia Irini – Tolofonas Beach – Eratini – Agioi Pantes – Galaxidi (outskirts) – Itea (2nd intermediate straight) – climb to the finish, pass through Delphi and ending in Arachova.
