After two days of enthralling action, the ΔΕΗ Tour of Hellas resumes today (Friday, April) 4, with the third stage.

Following yesterday’s finish in the town of Arachova - built on the slopes of Mount Parnassos, one of the most popular mountain destinations in Greece - the riders will begin the third part of their Greek journey from Delphi for a stage with a distance of 151.78 km and an elevation gain of 1619 metres.

The pre-start will be given at 1 p.m. in one of Greece’s most emblematic archaeological sites, next to the Statue of Prometheus. The race will begin from the settlement of Chrissos.

Heading towards Amfissa Avenue and counterclockwise, they will climb towards the Holy Temple of Zoodochos Pigi. Before they reach the traditional mountain village of Desfina, the first KoM uphill sprint takes place.

The riders will then move towards Distomo, at the westernmost tip of the Regional Unit of Boeotia, for the second KoM sprint at the Karakolitho tower, where lies the site of the Karakolithos Monument to the Fallen of the Massacre of Distomo. Passing by Livadia peripherally and through the towns of Agios Georgios and Agia Paraskevi, the riders will reach the foot of Mount Elikonas and the village Petra of the Aliartos municipality, for the first intermediate sprint.

The first intermediate sprint will occur in Aliartos, a town belonging to the Regional Unit of Boeotia, and a second will follow in Thebes, one of the most powerful Greek cities of antiquity.

From Aliartos, an ancient city in Boeotia named after its founder, the runaway leaders will reach Thebes, the third oldest city in Europe, for the second intermediate sprint.

From Mouriki, heading towards the Euboean Gulf, with a left course until Drosia, the riders will finish the stage in Chalkida, below the Karababa Fortress, where the ancient city of Kanithos once was.
